Connect Direct File Agent: Encryption and Decryption of keystore and truststore password

To setup client certifcate authentication for the File Agent, keystore and truststore passwords are required to be specified in clear text either on the command line or in a .lax file. Since the passwords are in clear text, this creates a security exposure in that the keystore, truststore, private keys can be compromised and potentially compromise the Connect Direct server and the data that is managed by Connect Direct.


Please enhance File Agent so that it can encrypt / decrypt the keystore and truststore passwords and no longer depend on clear text passwords.

Sensitive data flows through the Connect Direct environment. The File agent is used to trigger external tasks and process this data.

    Thank you for your patience as we worked on this enhancement. I'm pleased to announce that we've released integrated File Agent with our latest v6.2 release. I believe this will address the concern that you had about how credentials were handled in previous versions of File Agent. Please upgraded to the latest version to gain the benefits of the extensive enhancements we've made to FA.

I have reviewed it with my team and we believe that your request to simplify administration of File Agent certificates and limit password usage would be valuable. We will accept this enhancement request and will look to add it to the roadmap moving forward.
