Improve Transfer Speed between CDU on EC2 instance and S3

We are in the testing staging of using CDU to download file from S3 and push to some other CD Node. However, after we perform testing a large file (GB), we found that the transfer speed is almost three time slower than AWS S3 CP command.

 

We have a ticket open with IBM support and the recommendation is to turn off Checkpoint and s3.endPointSecure. However, only the change of s3.endPointSecure improves the speed close to AWS S3 CP command. But this raised a concern to our security team since the communication between CDU and S3 will happen via HTTP. 

 

So, we would like to request this process to be reviewed and improved for a transfer speed without sacrificing the security.

    Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM. I have reviewed it with my team and we believe that some performance improvements would be possible for S3 access. We will accept this enhancement request and will look to place this item on the roadmap moving forward.
