This portal is to open public enhancement requests for IBM Sterling products and services. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with us. I see that you've noticed the Initparm that was added to disable the new agent if it doesn't work well in an environment. This has been added to C:D UNIX v4.2, v4.3, and v6.0. It has also been added to C:D Windows v6.0 with plans to port the Initparm back to v4.8 and v4.7 as well.
We believe that this will be the best compromise for the majority of current and future C:D customers as the agent will likely be very helpful in maintaining the lifecycle of C:D instances with Control Center Director. It sounds like the new Initparm meets your needs so I'll mark this request as delivered. As always please don't hesitate to use the Ideas tool to suggest other enhancements however.
Sincerely,
Chris Sanders
Connect:Direct Offering Manager
I see that version 6.0.0.2, there is now a parameter in the initparms where the install agent can be disabled.
The same is true for Connect Direct Windows. Currently the component gets added automatically. I don't like this. It needs to be an option.
