Please Provide CLI option for configuring File Agent - Connect Direct on Unix environment Merged

For environments involving UNIX and not having X11 support available - please provide a command line interface option which lets you compile or edit Default_Config.ser file

    Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM. I have reviewed it with my team and it appears to be a duplicate of an existing request that we have accepted and added to our roadmap. You'll find a link below to that request. I've merged the request together so that we can track them accurately and we will provide an update when these capabilities can be added to Connect:Direct.

    Due to the fact that File Agent configurations require Hostname within the binary Default_Config.ser file, and there is no current feature to edit the file via command line interface, we are left with the issue of being unable to create the necessary configurations without having to utilize a GUI. For our automated solution of silent installation/configuration, this is going to be a blocker for using the File Agent application. We are working to deploy an automated solution to over 5,000 stores, all of which have unique hostnames, and manual configuration is not an option for this use case. The development of a command line interface tool to edit File Agent configurations is needed in order to automate and roll out this solution.
