FileTransfer using connect direct with S3 directly

The ability to support CDU/S3 direct access from on-prem nodes is not present in this release. if connect direct unix directly about to do file transfers with S3 would benefit the business. It would be a game changer in file transfers for cloud.

What is your industry? Banking
How will this idea be used?

Currently projects are looking for a solution to do file transfers with S3 directly from traditional unix environments.

Thank you for opening this enhancement request with IBM.  I have reviewed it with my team and this request does not match our goals with interaction for modern storage options.  Our goal is to continue to ensure reliable, high-speed managed file transfer and this will require that C:D be installed on each end of a transmission.  C:D UNIX v4.3 provides direct Amazon S3 read/write capabilities, but it does require that C:D is running in the cloud to facilitate these connections.  I must decline this request, but please don't hesitate to open a new enhancement request should you have another suggestions.

    Sincerely,

    Chris Sanders
