Ability To Test Actions

See this idea on ideas.ibm.com

After setting up an Action, you are unable to test it without adding it to a rule, and then manually triggering the rule. This is very time consuming when you're trying to verify configuration of the action. I would like there to be a test button within Actions so you can immediately verify:

  • e-mail delivery

  • SNMP trap creation

  • successful OS command

  • successful Connect:Direct command

This will be used to test actions immediately after setup instead of having to create rules and manually generate events to trigger the rule/action, which is a time consuming process.
