We are testing Control Center for monitoring and managing C:D server, and one of the inconvenience we encountered was the lack of formatting options for time-related variables (event elements).
To elablorate, we tried to set up rules and actions to send mail notification on file transfer failure, and these need to include the time of failure, and we tested some time-related variables but these either won't convert with user preferred/Engine timezone or include unnessary information that cannot be formatted.
For example, STRT and dateTime, where the former is always in UTC+0 and cannot be converted to user preferred timezone, while the later is displayed in local timezone, but contains uncessary information such as the time in GMT timezone and can be confusing to look at.
Timezone conversion feature that can be used to auto convert STRT variable, or formatting feature allowing for changing how variable values are displayed would make this kind of notification setup easier to use.

Hi Mike,
Thank you for the reply, regarding your question.
Regarding option 1, I don't recall any option during Control Center installation regarding timezone, and the preferred timezone set in configCC.sh did not seem to apply here, I already asked support about this.
*See case TS013807325 for more details.
Regarding option 2, I do not recall there was any configuration in the actions menu that allows for setting timezone per-action, can you elaborate on how to do this?
Thank you,
Hi John,
Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM.
Do either of these options work for you?
Option 1: Use the configured time zone at the system level
Option 2: Set the time zone for each action and include the time zone in email, SNMP, etc.
Thanks,
Mike Lamb
