Compliance for SWIFT members with MFA for internal users

In relation to the SWIFT Customer Security Programme, the Customer Security Controls Framework V2023, there is a mandatory requirement for relevant in scope components to implement and maintain Multi-Factor Authentication when internal operators’ logon to the SFG and B2Bi GUIs. This is the Security Control 4.2 Multi-Factor Authentication. Compliance in this relation needs to be assessed on an annual basis with a formal attestation to SWIFT.

Without a native support for MFA - SWIFT members might be forced to implement such solutions outside the application. This could increase complexity and decrease user friendliness.
