Enhance REST API Client service to allow connection via DMZ / Perimeter server

Currently REST API Client service can establish connection to REST API endpoint via local perimeter or proxy only. This presents an issue while connecting to external partners.

Request is to enhance REST API Client service to allow configuration for Perimeter Server Name similar HTTP Client Adapter. This will align the REST API protocol with the rest of communication protocols and provide better security controls

How will this idea be used?

REST API Client service to does not allow configuration for Perimeter Server Name. This limits the use of service only internal to Sun Life. Lot of clients are now moving to SaaS based model which request REST API communication. We are unable to facilitate these requests because connection cannot me routed through secure DMZ layer

    we are not in cloud and are looking to use this on our on premise install of IBM Sterling. The cloud setting will not work for us

    Hello,


    basically that makes this service for us useless as our system is only allowed to communicate over the perimeter server with external APIs.

    IBM has evaluated the request and has determined that it cannot be implemented at this time or does not align with our current strategy or roadmap.


    In a cloud / kubernetes setting perimeter servers are not required.
