Enhance SAP Suite adapter to support Secure Network Communication (SNC)

Support JCO3 SNC parameters in SAP Suite Adapter in B2B Sterling Integrator. SNC secures the data communication paths between the SAP System components and B2B Sterling Integrator. It will add additional security feature for secured communication.

It is required as an mandate from NBCU InfoSec team to add this feature as a part of SAP cloud migration.

    Hi Ryan,

    we're using B2Bi on Windows with ALE & RFC without Docker.

    Hello, we have committed this enhancemnt to a future branch of 6.1 of B2Bi. While timing can still change, we tentativley have this aligned to a 6.1.3 release.


    Pleae note with all enhancements, timing can change. We are seeing this now with our efforts to mitigate log4j issues.

    Hello all - We are looking into this enhancement while battling other security related issues at the moment. To help prioritize, could I please get a roll call of what environments we are requesting this for, it will help with priority.

    What is your Operating System B2Bi is running?

    Do you use ALE , RFC or BAPI?

    Do you use Adapter Containers (remmeber in this context adapter contaienrs are for running protocl adapters in its own JVM no "Docker")?

    Hello IBM,

    we've a request from our security officier to switchB2B Sterling Integrator connectivity from unencrypted RFC / ALE call to SNC encrypted one in the first half of 2021. So we're heavily interested in then SNC support for SI SAP Suite Adapter.

    Dear IBM,

    We need to link SI with SAP on AWS and our security group have mandated SNC is a must. As SI does not currently support SNC I will need to abandon the project (bad) or apply for a security exemption (painful and bad). Please can IBM prioritise SNC - if I see it on a roadmap it would help with a security exemption at least.

    The focus is more towards hybrid these days and this feature aligns with that strategy and allows IBM ahead of the game.

    Dear IBM,

    To strenghten the IT security the use of SNC for RFC connections with our new S4 system has become mandatory. Therefore we need to have this implemented for the B2B Integrator . Could you please prioritize this?

    For a company like Honeywell which is so focused on security and have very stringent policies to connect within an organization. The S&C connectivity has become need of the hour. We badly need this feature to make connectivity with our organisation with ERPs secure as per the security guidelines of the company. This has to be high priority

    Hi Ryan, This is one of the mandatory security requirement in hybrid cloud implementations where B2BI in a public cloud and SAP in corporate datacenters. Please let us know if there is any possibility to prioritize this. Kishore

    We have evaluated this request and that this time we unfortunately have to decline, due to other priorities in our backlog. We will continue to monitor for customer interest, but as of now we haven't received enough feedback and demand from additional clients requesting this feature to prioritize it over other planned activities. We'd love the opportunity to discuss what is on the roadmap for 2020.
