IBM Sterling Ideas
Shape the future of IBM!
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
IBM is transforming its request for enhancement (RFE) process. The purpose of the transformation is to provide a more consistent experience for you to submit requests and to enable IBM product owners to respond to your requests more quickly. For more information click here.
Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you, 1. Post an idea 2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you 3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notifications on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.

Update: This feature will be available soon on the upcoming 6.1.0.3 fix-pack release tentaitlvely scheduled for release by July 9th 2021 (subject to change).
Due to complexity we are unable to backport to 6.0
In order to get this enhancement, one must upgrade to 6.1.0.3 (or higher) to receive this.
Our client and their partner had implemented a workaround to temporarily bypass the SNI requirement; however, this is posing a security concern especially if it would be kept that way for a longer period of time.
Client had just upgraded to 6.0.1 and are opting to have the SNI feature enabled from 6.0.3x fix pack.
Having said that, may we know the status re backporting to a fix pack on 6.0.3x? Has this been approved? If yes, kindly advise tentative sched for release, please..
Thank you very much in advance.
Richie
Hello, Ryan.
Any update on the status for 6.0.3.x fix pack, please?
Thanks!
Good day!
Our clients would like to know status for 6.0.3.x fixpack, please?
Thank you very much in advance!
Warm regards,
Richie
Hello, Ryan.
Hope this message finds you well.
Just curious to know if there already is an update re backporting to 6.0.3.x fixpack?
Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the additional feedback. We will consider the request to backport to a fixpack on 6.0.3.x. We will update this thread when we made a desicion, closer to release of the fix in June for 6.1
If anyone is intrested in testing this functionality with an early release version of 6.1 with this fix, please let me know. We will have a docker container with 6.1.1.x installed with this feature, you'll need to download the container and install to test.
Yes, please. Hope feature would be available in all 6x versions.
I'd like to second the request for SNI support in 6.0.
Can we have this feature in 6.0 version?
Update: HTTP SNI support is committed to the next release of B2Bi (v6.1.1), tentatively scheduled for a late Q2 release. To prepare to consume this enhancement please ensure you are on v6.1 in advance. In mid-April 2021, we will have a BETA release available if any client would like to participate in an early access program to help test and validate the enhancement is complete. Please reach out to me directly at woodry@us.ibm.com for more details.
Please provide an update on the timeline of this release. We are completely stopped on one new enablement with one of our customers until this is implemented.
Hi IBM,
We are starting to see more and more vendors moving to cloud solutions and utilising SNI and we are unable to support them with our strategic toolset, are you able to release a date when support will be available as we are being forced to look at other solutions if we are not able to give a solid path forward.
Many thanks,
Peter
Thank you all for the feedback and interest in this enhancement. We have committed this enhancemnt to the upcoming v6.1.1 release, due in 1H of 2021. While that can change, we will update this idea as more information is available.
A recent change to AS2 Communications with a major competitor of IBM has the requirement of using SNI with TLS 1.2, I am guessing to be used as a form of Load Balancing. As of release 6.0.3.2 it remains unsupported. Please add this support ASAP as it is now required to enable AS2 Communications with your competitors.
Thank you for participating in the request for enhancement community. We have accepted this RFE to our roadmap. Our current plans are to implement SNI support for the HTTP Client Adapter. If there is a need for other use cases (HTTP Server, FTPS, etc) please open a new request. We look to target this feature in an upcoming release on 6.1 in the short term.
Also it concerns security...
Please can you help us to have this as soon as possible ?
It is really starting to be a blocking point...
