Sterling Software's support for Amazon RDS for DB2

The customer is currently using Sterling OMS (10.0.2209) and Sterling B2B Integrator (6.1.2.0).

The database is DB2 Enterprise Server Edition (v11.5.8.0). The infrastructure uses AWS EC2.

Sterling is used as the core system for supply chain operations, and the batch jobs related to order processing take 20 hours. The customer would like to move to a higher‑performance server at least during the batch window.

However, migrating EC2 to a higher‑performance server requires system downtime, and operational staff must perform work each time, so this has not been feasible.
Therefore, the customer is considering migrating DB2 to Amazon RDS for DB2 in order to enable flexible scaling and to create read replicas so that data can be referenced during the batch window.

At this time, according to the SCPR, support for RDS for DB2 is not listed for Sterling OMS or Sterling B2B Integrator.

My understanding is that, in the past, when RDS added support for DB2, there was also an announcement that Sterling OMS would support RDS.

Additionally, when referring to this document, the following description is provided regarding the container delivery model:

|Support statement for cloud database services
|You can leverage database services offered by cloud providers such as IBM, AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, for the database versions that are supported by Sterling Order |Management System Software on Oracle, DB2, and PostgreSQL. For example, use DB2 on AWS RDS, PostgreSQL on AlloyDB, and ensure that the database versions match those |supported by Sterling Order Management System Software.

Given this, we assume that the omission in SCPR may simply be an oversight. Could you please confirm?

However, if there are no plans for support, could you please initiate planning so that support can be provided as soon as possible?

We wish the best of luck to the Sterling development team.
