Create an archived/purged report for all BP's purged at a given time

When seeing spikes/drops in DB size it would be helpful to determine what may have caused. DBSTAT does nothing in this regard. It would help if a report could shows all BP's names and number of executions for given point and time.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. I truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations and ideas.

I need a little more information to understand your idea. Can you describe how a report like this will help resolve your issue in understanding your DB load? What problem are you trying to solve with a report like this?

A few concerns were raised when discussing this internally:

    • Running this report will have a large impact on performance every time it is run

    • this report would need to be run frequently in order to paint a full picture of the purge activity, this is not useful as a one-off report run infrequently

    • report would need a lot of work to consolidate and understand, there could be the same BP run 1000s of times and it may not be clear what each BP is doing w/o correlating with purge logs/system logs

    • There may be other operations other than purge that are impacting your DB load that will not be captured in this report
