POST Call should create user identity key using the same 4 parametres we uses while creating the key from SI UI.

Hi Team,

When we create the user identity key from within the SI interface, all we have to do is provide the values for the below-mentioned details and the system already creates the key for us.

Key Name

Key Type

Key Length

Comment

Enable or Disable

However, when trying to create the same key using the POST API call. We had to provide the passphrase and private key data which is not needed from within the UI.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your ideas to IBM. I truly value our relationship with you and appreciate your willingness to share details about your experience, your recommendations and ideas.

I need a little more information to understand your idea. When it comes to APIs, best security practice is to ask for/require the passphrase. When using the UI, the user is already logged in, which has a different security profile than an anonymous API call. Can you describe why you would want to not request the passphrase and private key data for API calls given the increased security risk?
