Since MEFG adapter is single threaded , it can handle only one SWIFT (Interact / Fileact )request at a time . This makes subsequent SWIFT requests keeping in queue waiting to reach till MEFG adapter, this breaks the SLA of responding SWIFT request which is 60 sec and ultimately when requests reaches to MEFG adapter , it gets timed out . Customer gets SWIFT NACK for such requests .
The situation gets worsen when there is scenario of bulk load and it affects the payment cutoff and affects the customer experiences. Sometimes we need to get into customer calls that there payments are getting delayed , but we get into situation that we can not do anything for it .
There had some scenarios where MEFG adapter were busy in handling only delivery notification request and other SWIFT requests for actual traffic breached the SWIFT SLA for getting responded. This is again one of the example how MEFG being single threaded, causing issues in handling bulk traffic.
so we need to have MEFG as multi threaded to handle multiple requests at a time because mere increasing number of MEFG adapters is not the permanent solution for the same.

We are considering delivering this enhancement as part of our SWIFT recertification efforts in 2024. We will need to deprecate some older APIs and leverage new features in the latest standard and are planning to do this in a multi-threaded way.
Hello team, could you please confirm the plan to deliver this feature in MEFG?
