Shape the future of IBM!
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Post your ideas
IBM is transforming its request for enhancement (RFE) process. The purpose of the transformation is to provide a more consistent experience for you to submit requests and to enable IBM product owners to respond to your requests more quickly. For more information click here.
Start by posting ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted and upvote them if they matter to you,
1. Post an idea
2. Upvote ideas that matter most to you
3. Get feedback from the IBM team to refine your idea
Help IBM prioritize your ideas and requests
The IBM team may need your help to refine the ideas so they may ask for more information or feedback. The offering manager team will then decide if they can begin working on your idea. If they can start during the next development cycle, they will put the idea on the priority list. Each team at IBM works on a different schedule, where some ideas can be implemented right away, others may be placed on a different schedule.
Receive notifications on the decision
Some ideas can be implemented at IBM, while others may not fit within the development plans for the product. In either case, the team will let you know as soon as possible. In some cases, we may be able to find alternatives for ideas which cannot be implemented in a reasonable time.
enhanced PARSE function
In order to use the new PARSE function as a replacement for the old RUN(submap) constructs, the PARSE function should have similar behavior as RUN(submap). This essentially requires 2 enhancements:1.) We need to pass arguments to PARSE like "-F21 ...
Enhanced functional maps navigation in studio
In complex mappings, it is sometimes hard to navigate across multiple levels of functional maps.Developers' life would be easiser if they could get back to the place where they were before going to a given function map
data anonymization/masking (typetree attribute + test mode)
There are 2 requirements that lead to this idea:
1.) external requirements like GDPR force us to anonymize/pseudonymize data in non-production environments2.) A-B-testing would be much easier if we can mask dynamic attributes (e.g. timestamps)
Improve performance of SERIESTOTEXT function
Currently the SERIESTOTEXT function does not distinguish the type of an object when the same field from the type tree is passed at different level. To make things clear, below is an example of a typical ANSI X12 type tree and the 'X12 Segment'...
A new WARN() function, which would work similar to FAIL()
I propose a new function WARN(), which would work in a similar way to FAIL() and end the map with a specific warning code.
Need to connect Sybase Database with ssl port using mercator (ODBC adapter)
Currently IBM Transformation extender tool (version 10.0.0) using ODBC adapter for sybase DB connections for creating .mdq file. We are able to connect syabse database with normal port but we are facing issue while connecting with ssl port. When c...
SFTP Connector for ITX
It's impossible to do SFTP (FTP over SSH) with FTP adapter with ITX 9.
Create multiple indexes in one shot
When developing and working with item(s), it could be interesting to create several indexes of an item in one shot. This is to avoid using the "add index" function again and again (which is time consuming)
LDAP support for IBM Sterling Transformation Extender Design Server
I need to authenticate ITX Designer Server users on the external LDAP server. So, I'd like to request this feature URGENTLY to be compliant with security policies from the company.
Make component rules validation optional, just as it is the case with restriction lists
In WTX, when running a map, there's an option to avoid validating restriction lists. Having the same option for component rules could be useful in some cases.
Do not place IBM confidential, company confidential, or personal information into any field.
